SEA DAYZ

Since the back to back Sea Dayz were relatively uneventful, HE chose to try and combine them in one post, which, may or may not be brief.  [Who is HE kidding?!?]

We find our erstwhile dining drama duo being roused by the room service knock instead of the THUNK of the phone to the floor.

Having to call twice for room service door hanger menus the night before, we hoped the order would be correct this time.
Uh… no.
While the English muffin did appear, the O.J. was missing in action, as was the banana.  Oh wellllll, he’s recording the hiccups as they occur for his notes to the corporate office.  It should prove very interesting reading for Mark Tamis and team.  Or maybe not.  HE has still to decide if it’s even worth it at this stage.

As noted above, the days were non-descript and comprised of leisurely “Beach Days” by the pool, day-gambling for some, shopping for others, NOWAT composition and nothing much else until time to put Claudia to work at Happy Hour.

Once in the dining room we are greeted by Cheshire Cat C/G and Stefan [no Anwar].
An inquiry about his absence netted:
“He’s not feeling well and will not be serving tonight.”

Hmmmmm.  It suddenly dawns on us… that long line of crew that we spotted on the promenade deck when we returned from Aruba yesterday, was their mandatory Covid Testing.  And, it was a good bet that Anwar’s absence meant that he probably tested positive.

Neither C/G nor Stefan would confirm this but we later found out that word had already hit the News Media outlets that 109 Crew and a few passengers on the JEWEL had tested positive. Subsequently, RCCL announced that the JEWEL was being taken out of service until late February.

Soooo… guess who is filling in for Anwar tonight [much to the obvious dismay of Stefan and several of TE6]?
Yup, He, of the “Not My Fault” school of deflection, Caesar/Gabriel.  Oh My!

Now it must be said that, Once Upon a Time, C/G was probably a very good waiter and thus his probable “Peter Principal” promotion to Assistant Head Waiter of My Time Dining on  the  Jewel.  And though he proved much of this by providing excellent, if a bit “Over the Top” service both evenings, TE6 still missed Anwar and wish him well.

Stefan did his BEST to make up for whatever C/G lacked in warmth and common sense, while showing off his newly honed “Chucky’s Wrist Twist” wine pouring skills. And for the most part, dinners both nights resulted in pleasant, uneventful experiences.

After Coffee and dessert, the usual, Casino, after dinner spirits and gaming were calling so off they went.

Now on Sea Night 1, on the way to the casino, Chucky happened upon Salsa Night in the Main Atrium.  And of course the pulsating Meringue’ rhythm had his motor running.
He now has to stop, and scanning the crowd on the sidelines, he spots a mature young lady sitting it out while “Mami and Papi” were tripping the light fantastic.  And, it was very apparent by her “In Seat” gyrations, that her motor was also running - she really wanted to be on the dance floor too.

Soooo, Avid Terpsichorean and Aficionado of Baile Latino that he is, Chucky waited until the number concluded and as the next one struck up, he made his move. Being most careful, of course, to approach Papi with - “Permisso?” - as he extended his hand to the young lady whose motor had already kicked into high gear.
Appreciating this "gentleman’s" respectfulness, Papi cheerfully nodded his consent to the daughter who all but sprung from her chair, almost dragging Chucky to the dance floor, where… they proceeded to delight the crowd with, Twists, Turns, Spins, CaChas, and other feats of light footed magic, unseen in a couple of such age disparity… at least on this dance floor.
Chucky enjoyed it too and as they exited the floor the youngster turned and said,
“Not Bad, Thanks, and come again please!”

Once was enough, because Musica and Baile Latino for him, is akin to a drink for recovering a alcoholic.
One is too many and two is not enough.

Best he head to the casino before it turned into a night of wild abandon in the Atrium of The Jewel of The Seas.

Yeah, right… in HIS Dreams!

Joining the others for a Remy VSOP and a little poker, he and Dragon Chic soon headed up for some serious Zzzzzzz’s.

Soooo, having let this get away from HIM again, we'll finish Sea Dayz and get THEM off the ship in the next chapter of:
“Chucky’s Homage to Fred Astaire”

Or sumpthin’ like that.

Ciao 4 Now
Uncle Chuck
& The Shaking HER Head and Smiling,
Dragon Lady
